Partners Policy

At LMC, collaboration is everything. We choose to work with people and organisations who share our values, who care about integrity and respect, and who want to leave the built environment better than they found it.

This code isn’t about box-ticking. It’s about setting out the principles that matter most to us, and making sure we’re aligned in how we work together. It outlines our expectations as to how all our partners, clients and suppliers will behave. Our success as a business comes in part from these partnerships based on integrity and a commitment to high ethical and operational standards.

If this Code of Conduct reflects how you already work, then we’re aligned – and ready to do great things together.

Integrity first

Trust is the foundation of every relationship we build. That’s why we never tolerate any form of corruption, bribery, extortion or embezzlement, and why we expect our partners to act with the same transparency and integrity. The Bribery Act 2010 is our baseline – but our shared reputation depends on going further.

If you’re ever unsure about what this means in practice, ask us. We’d rather have an open conversation than risk misunderstanding.

Respect at every level

Bullying, harassment, intimidation or discrimination have no place in our world. Every individual, whether from LMC or one of our partners, deserves to be treated with dignity. Respect creates trust, and trust creates results.

If something feels wrong, say so. We’ll always listen.

Human rights and modern slavery

Modern slavery is one of the worst abuses in business and we will fight it everywhere we can. You will respect internationally proclaimed human rights, and will be free of child labour and modern slavery, including ensuring no forced labour, debt bondage, confiscation of identity documents, the use of worker-paid recruitment fees, or any work performed under the menance of a penalty or coercion. You will uphold worker rights such as workers' freedom of movement, freedom of association, and the right to resign.

Need more information on tackling modern slavery in your own supply chain too? Here is some good advice.

Diversity and inclusion

We want our own team to reflect the diversity of the society we serve – and we expect our partners to share that ambition. Everyone should feel valued, respected and able to do their best work. You will be an equal opportunities employer.

We’re always learning in this area. If you have good practice to share, we’d love to hear it.

Caring for the planet

We choose to work with people who are serious about the environment. Our partners must meet environmental regulations covering waste, emissions and pollution – but more than that, we’re looking for shared ambition to reduce impact and protect natural resources.

Tell us how you’re tackling sustainability. We want to learn from you, too.

Protecting information

Information is one of the most valuable assets we share. All data must be handled responsibly, with personal data protected in line with UK law and strong security processes in place to protect LMC's information and intellectual property rights, safeguarding it against misuse, theft, fruaud or improper disclosure. You will have a disaster recovery plan in place designed to minimise the impact on LMC and its clients of any incident that affects your business.

If you ever identify a risk or breach, raise it with us straight away so we can work together to prevent or mitigate potential problems.

Doing the right thing

Compliance with laws and regulations is non-negotiable. You will comply with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and internationally agreed standards of business ethics in all the countries where you carry out business activities - and indeed, comply with this Code if it stipulates a higher standard than required by national laws or regulations. From safe working conditions and legal hours to fair treatment of employees, we expect partners to uphold the highest standards.

If you’re ever uncertain, seek clarity. The right approach is always the one that protects people and planet.

Raising concerns

If anyone at LMC has concerns about the conduct of a partner, client or supplier, we encourage them to speak up. We promise concerns will be taken seriously and investigated quickly. We also reserve the right to require partners, clients and suppliers to demonstrate their compliance with this Code from time to time.

The same goes for you – if you ever see something in our behaviour that doesn’t feel right, we want to know.
