Our Story

The business is born. Liz sets up independently after more than 10 years of inhouse and consultancy PR roles in London, determined to focus on what she loves best: property, construction and the built environment. From day one, she is working with major brands including National Grid, the Countryside Agency and technology innovators, Asite.

LMC becomes incorporated (Liz Male Consulting Ltd). We employ our first team members.

LMC wins the Construction Marketing Awards (Best Use of PR) for our national launch campaign for TrustMark - the first of many PR awards that we have enjoyed over the years. The first LMC Christmas ‘card’ is produced – an animated GIF of a Christmas construction, including a crane (of course).

Launch of LMC’s facilitation services, inspired and informed by the graphic facilitation approach of the Grove Consultancy in the USA, Pinpoint Facilitation and expert training on dialogue for sustainability from the Environment Council.

LMC moves to the lovely market town of Olney, with offices on the High Street.

LMC takes on its first PR Apprentice in a renewed commitment to train a new generation of property and construction PR experts. Liz is appointed MBE in the Queen's New Year Honours for services to construction and consumer protection.

LMC achieves its first year of accreditation under the PRCA Communications Management Standard (CMS) - the hallmark of PR excellence. CMS combines elements of ISO 9001 and Investors in People, with criteria specific to a PR and communications consultancy. We have held this accreditation ever since.

LMC is crowned the PR Consultancy Team of the year in the IBP’s Communication and PR Awards, and receives highly commended for our PR campaign for UK Construction Week.

LMC moves to larger offices in Sherington, and Dan Gerrella joins us as Associate Director. We also win the first of our many PRCA Workplace Champions awards.

The Covid pandemic hits the UK. Everyone goes off to work from home and we hold quizzes, 1970s cocktails and cookery lessons and Easter bonnet competitions online. Liz and Dan (determined never to waste a good crisis) complete Cranfield University’s prestigious Business Growth Programme (BGP).

LMC celebrates its 20th anniversary as a limited company with a networking event for industry leaders, and we publish the first of our books on innovation - 101 Innovations in Construction.

The awards keep on coming. We launch a refreshed brand identity and website, and launch our lower-carbon digital marketing services.

We win the inaugural Positive Impact award and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category in the PRCA Workplace Champion Awards for 2025.
